1978年党的十一届三中全会以后，学校各项事业迎来了蓬勃发展的春天。学校加强教学科研设施建设，严格管理，严谨治学，在人才培养中注重加强基础、培养能力及拓宽专业，办学规模迅速扩大，办学层次逐步扩展，人才培养质量和科研水平不断提高，积极发展校办产业，广泛开展国际交流，学校面貌发生了深刻变化。1980年学校开始招收第一批硕士研究生。1987年，学校壮大到7个系15个专业。

After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the CPC in 1978, the institute enjoyed a period of prosperous development. In 1980, she enrolled the first group of graduate students. In 1987, she expanded into 7 departments and 15 majors. It has also strengthened the construction of facilities for teaching and scientific research, conducted strict management and rigorous scholarship, and paid attention to teaching students basic knowledge, cultivating their capabilities and improving their specialties. By rapidly increasing the scale and gradually enhancing the level, the institute has constantly improved the quality of training and the level of scientific research. Moreover, the institute actively developed other institute-owned enterprises and carried international exchanges extensively and thus dramatic changes have taken place.
